Teriyaki-BBQ Sauce via ChatGPT

Ingredients
- onion - 4 ea., quartered, charred
- garlic - 6 ea.
- ginger - 3 oz., unpeeled, charred
- soy sauce - 5 cups
- apple juice - 5 cups
- brown sugar - 2 lbs.
- honey - 3 cups
- rice vinegar - 1 cup
- mirin - 1 cup
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 cup
- tomato paste - 10 oz.
- apple cider vinegar - 0.25 cups
- sesame oil - 0.25 cups
- white pepper - 1 oz.
- paprika - 1 oz.
- mustard powder - 1 oz.
- chili powder - 1 oz.
- cayenne - 0.25 oz.
- bourbon - 1 cup
Instructions
- In a large pot or saucepan, combine onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, mirin, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar and sesame oil.
- Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and honey.
- In a separate bowl, combine black pepper, paprika, mustard powder, chili powder and cayenne pepper.
- Gradually add the spice mixture and bourbon to the simmering sauce, stirring well to incorporate.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking or burning.
- After 30 minutes, remove the pot from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.
